SCA continues to optimize transportation
SCA continues the work to optimize logistic flow for reduced emissions, improved cost efficiency and strengthening competitiveness. From October 1 st, 2026, SCA Logistics RoRo vessels, carrying kraftliner and pulp to Western and Central Europe, will be sailing to the port of Vlissingen instead of Rotterdam.

New RoRo traffic in the port of Piteå reduces emissions
Starting on 1 October 2026, SCA will implement changes to its sea transport using RoRo vessels (Roll-on/Roll-off) by reducing speed, increasing vessel load factors, and adjusting how the ports in Umeå and Piteå are used. One effect of these changes is that emissions from the vessels will be reduced by approximately 40 percent.

Tug M/S Drake is christened
Sundsvall's new tug M/S Drake has now been officially named. With 60 tons thrust, fossil-free fuel and icebreaking capacity, she is an important addition for SCA and the port operations. Ski icon Charlotte Kalla inaugurated the ship as its godmother during a solemn ceremony at the quay on October 17.
