A wind farm changes the appearance of the landscape. In the surrounding area, it may also generate noise and cast shadows. To ensure that those affected share in the value created by wind power, there is now a statutory wind power compensation scheme.

OX2 and SCA are exploring the possibilities of developing wind power at Marktjärn. The project area is located approximately 13 kilometres north of Ljungaverk in Ånge Municipality and, in its current layout, comprises 40 turbines that are estimated to be capable of generating approximately 1.1 TWh per year.
